Welcome to Belfire Press!
It’s Samhain Eve and we are pleased to announce that Belfire Press is live!
Samhain, the night to honor the dead, the Celtic new year. Tonight the pagan god moves into the underworld and takes his place beside his consort. A time to start from the ground, and work up through the darkness, into the light of spring. Belfire is the traditional bonfire around which Celtic revelers celebrate Beltaine – May Day – when the god is reborn and the circle of life moves forward.
Six months from tonight, Belfire Press will launch in celebration of life, creativity and of course – damn good writing.
Now, while I’ve used these examples to highlight the name of the press, and the timing of the announcement tonight and launch in spring, we’re not a pagan-focused press. It just happens to be what we believe.
We invite you to look around the site, bookmark us or add the RSS feed to your readers as the coming weeks will bring more news and updates than we have up here right now. No, really – I promise. In fact, we’ll have two announcements within the next week.
At this point we are not open to submissions as we are filling our first few spots with invited proposals only. We will announce a reading period within the next six months.
