Jeff Bennett sipped at his breakfast beer and peered through the airplane window, trying to catch a glimpse of the ocean far below the clouds.
He wondered how his dad was doing in baggage, not that ashes could feel discomfort. They were going to Kodiak together. Three months after Dad’s death, Jeff couldn’t completely grasp he was gone. Perhaps he was just in another hospital, waiting on another procedure.
